The Boiler Room is a small coffee shop in downtown Sherman, located at 404 W Lamar Street, and a bit out of the way for Austin College students. It is small, even by coffee shop standards and the menu is non-descriptive. Its hours are 7 AM-4PM on weekdays, 9AM-3PM on Saturdays and it is closed on Sundays, proving to be inconvenient for the average college student.

Despite all that, I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a good coffee shop. I had the cappuccino and a smoked turkey sandwich with American cheese and spicy mustard. The coffee was great, and the food, while not spectacular, was still better than what you would find at a Starbucks or another generic coffee shop. Also, aside from the standard coffees, the Boiler Room also offers a number of different specialty lattes and frappes for reasonable prices.

Besides the food, the other aspects of the shop were pleasant. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. As mentioned before, it is a small shop, though. There does not appear to be seating available for large groups.

If you have a bit of extra cash and some spare time, then I would recommend at least giving the Boiler Room a try.
