The 2019 Austin College homecoming football game against Hendrix happened Sat. Oct. 26th. Families and Alumni came out to support the players. Unfortunately, Austin College lost 12-41, but they didn’t give up, scoring with one minute left in the last quarter.
In the first quarter, junior Evans Powell, No. 1, showed out with an amazing catch near the end zone.
Despite the loss, this was the game to go this season. Austin College’s CAB passed out free spirit megaphones, foam fingers, and toy balls. The t-shirt cannon also made an appearance.
At half time, the homecoming court was brought out to the field and the king and queen were announced. This year’s queen and king are Aussie dance captain, Amy Sierra, and football player, Evans Powell. For more information on the court nominees, visit our “Homecoming Court Nominees” article.
Also at half time, both the Aussie dance team and AC cheerleaders performed. The dance team danced to a mashup of songs that exemplified what “home sweet home” meant to them. The cheerleaders performed impressive stunts.
As always, Austin College’s Pep Band was in the stands, providing entertainment to all of the fans.
After Saturday’s game, Austin College is 3-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and 4-3 overall. For more statistics on the games and players, visit acroos.com.
