On October 26, 2021, ‘Roos will finally be able to get their fried chicken fix at somewhere other than Chick-Fil-A– Raising Cane’s.

If you’re not familiar, Cane’s is a fast-casual restaurant that serves some of the best fried chicken tenders you can get from any fast food place. The tenders are crispy but not dry, the Texas toast is famously rich and buttery, and their coleslaw is still on the menu, which is more than Chick-Fil-A can say. Cane’s sauce is legendary– a delicate mix of condiments and spices that results in a peppery, vinegary taste that compliments their chicken and fries perfectly.

You can get any of the above items in varying amounts in Cane’s iconic box combos, or even in sandwich form– but that’s all they’ll serve you. Cane’s keeps its menu limited to a small size– a fact which draws the ire of many critics who prefer large, diverse offerings from their fast food restaurant of choice. Chick-Fil-A will serve you chicken, grilled or fried, in nugget, tender, or namesake filet form, as well as a plethora of sides, salads, and desserts. With that in mind, Cane’s five-item menu might seem to pale in comparison to Chick-Fil-A’s. However, I would argue this:

If you don’t want a box of fried chicken, eat somewhere else.

There is no shortage of places to eat in Sherman– there are tens of restaurants along that stretch of I-75 alone. If you’re looking for grilled chicken, or a salad, or a chocolate milkshake, there are other restaurants for you. But rather than be a jack of all trades, Cane’s has chosen to be a true master of one– making perfect fried chicken tenders. They are the best at what they do, so when you get a craving for fried chicken, there’s nowhere else to be but Cane’s.
There is a reason why Cane’s has experienced explosive growth in the past few years, and you can go understand that reason for yourself when Cane’s comes to Sherman on October 26.
