With final exams just around the corner, there’s a good chance you’ll want to do something to blow off steam during the next few weekends. Luckily for you, Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille offers plenty of activities and attractions you can visit, between movie theaters, bowling lanes, an arcade, and more.

As an Austin College student, you’ve probably heard about Schulman’s before– many student organizations hold events there from time to time. However, you don’t have to be in a big group to visit. The latest movies are always showing there and the theaters are comfortable (and nicer than the Sherman Cinemark’s). They also offer discounts for movie tickets, bowling lanes, and other activities on certain days of the week or during special promotions, so you don’t always need to come with a lot of people to get the biggest bang for your buck.

Although the Schulman’s in Sherman was opened in 2019, the Schulman family has owned and operated theaters in Texas since the 1910s. Mark Schulman, the current owner, opened the complex to give Sherman and Denison residents entertainment options that they otherwise would have had to travel a long way for. Judging by how bustling Schulman’s gets on the weekends, it seems like this plan has worked out.

Besides the movies, the bowling, and the grill, Schulman’s also has an arcade, an axe throwing range, a ropes course, and a rock wall. Suffice to say, there are plenty of fun things to do at Schulman’s, some of which you might not be able to do anywhere else in Sherman. So, if you’ve got a free weekend and are itching to do something fun, give Schulman’s a shot– they’re sure to have something you’ll enjoy.

If you’re curious about Schulman’s or just feel an urge to go bowling, the Campus Activities Board is hosting a free bowling night this Friday, April 29th from 7-9 PM.
