This past month, the Austin College Cheer team held its National Cheerleaders Association routine showoff. The cheer showoff was held here on campus at Hughey Gymnasium on Wednesday, March 29th, where the team showcased their routine for when they compete at Daytona, Florida later this month.

Hughey gymnasium was packed with fans who came out to support the AC cheer team, and the fans’ excitement was palpable before the showoff even started. The cheer team performed a variety of flips and stunts during their routine. This month will mark the first time that the AC cheer team has competed in NCA showoffs, which is an honor for both the team as well as the college.

After the routine finished, there was a raffle where a lucky winner could buzz off the hair of one of the cheer members who had bright-colored hair, since they cannot have brightly colored hair at Daytona. This event drew a lot of laughter and enthusiasm from the crowd.
