On the evening of February 26th, fire alarms sounded around 6 p.m. at the Roo suites. Immediately on the scene were Austin College Police Chief James Perry and Area Coordinator Jimmy Wilkins, who could be seen directing students to safety in the Bryan Apartments parking lot. A Sherman police cruiser pulled in the parking lot directly across the street less than a minute later. When Campus Police and Student Life were questioned about the events surrounding the alarm, Michael Deen (Dean of Students), responded that the alarms were part of a fire drill.
